Sports broadcaster Dianna Russini is telling contacts around the NFL that she plans to announce a new job “next week,” according to a report from ProFootballTalk that OutKick says it can confirm.
It is not yet clear where Russini will land, though people in the industry say they have heard it could be with a gambling or prediction-market company.
Russini resigned from The Athletic in April, a week after the New York Post published photos showing her with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a resort in Arizona. After that report, other outlets published additional photos of the two together dating back seven years.
One of the more notable details to surface came from TMZ, which reported it had obtained documents showing Russini and Vrabel rented a private boat in Putnam County, Tennessee, in June 2021, while Russini was seven months pregnant.
The Athletic later conducted a review of Russini’s work. In a statement released in September, Mike Semel of The Athletic said: “Russini’s relationship with Vrabel was in clear violation of The Athletic’s standards. Regardless of whether the relationship was romantic, it was a breach and should have been disclosed.”
Russini initially described her trip as a “girls trip in Arizona” before meeting up with Vrabel, but no photos of that portion of the trip have surfaced publicly.
It remains unclear what form Russini’s next role will take or when an official announcement will come.
