Do you believe in assisted suicide? Euthanasia activists are pushing to legalize assisted suicide in two dozen states across the country.
Euthanasia basically means to take a deliberate action with the express intention of ending a life to relieve intractable (persistent, unstoppable) suffering. Some interpret euthanasia as the practice of ending a life in a painless manner.
Currently five states allow the practice; Oregon, Washington, Vermont, New Mexico and Montana.
Who decides if these patients are in enough pain to end their lives?
Euthanasia activists across the country are working to push legalized, assisted suicide in state after state, from California and Colorado to New Jersey and New Hampshire.
The D.C. Council is considering a “death with dignity” proposal introduced last week by council member Mary M. Cheh, Ward 3 Democrat, and the New Jersey Assembly passed an Oregon-style bill in November. Activists are expecting another dozen states to follow with similar legislation.
Who’s best interest is at stake with this bill “death with dignity”? Is it the money saved in medical costs or is it truly to help those who are suffering? If this was your family member; mom, dad, sister, brother, grandma or grandpa, would you be ok with assisted suicide?
