And now we have it… men can’t just be nice or friendly anymore. Why, you ask? Because there’s always an ulterior motive. Yes, it’s called “Benevolent Sexism” and what that means is, no matter what men do, they’re just trying to push women down. If a man opens the door for you, their just asserting their dominance.
Benevolent sexism looks and feels like a kind gesture, but it’s really just an “insidious” rouse to make us gullible females fall for their masculine superiority and continue with the status quo… you know, the status quo… where men are superior to women.
At least, that’s what author and Professor Judith Hall says:
“Benevolent sexism is like a wolf in sheep’s clothing that perpetuates support for gender inequality among women at an interpersonal level. These supposed gestures of good faith may entice women to accept the status quo in society because sexism literally looks welcoming, appealing, and harmless.”
Is the reverse also true? What happens when a woman opens a door for a man? Is she trying to snuff out his masculinity? I can tell you, I open doors for anyone near me, man, woman, or child. I do it out of kindness and courtesy, to say hello, and offer a smile. No ulterior motive. And I’ve had doors opened for me… yes, by men too, and I don’t feel any less empowered as a woman.
Chivalry isn’t dead, but feminists are still trying to kill it. This feminist nonsense will ruin society. There’s nothing wrong with people being nice to each other. And it doesn’t matter what the door-opener’s ulterior motive is. What matters is how you receive the gesture. If you have a problem with it, check your heart, because if you can’t find an ounce of gratitude to thank someone for opening a door, you may not even HAVE a heart!
