On Wednesday, Hunter Biden arrived in Washington D.C. and held a press conference on Capitol Hill to address a congressional subpoena related to his possible influence-peddling and family corruption.
He stated that he would only answer questions during a public hearing.
In his remarks, Biden asserted that his father, Joe Biden, was not financially involved in any of his business dealings; however, he tacitly admitted that the former Vice President had other forms of involvement.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer announced the GOP’s plan to proceed with contempt of Congress proceedings for Hunter Biden’s refusal to comply with the lawful subpoena.
“Hunter Biden today defied lawful subpoenas and we will now initiate contempt of Congress proceedings,” Comer said.
“We will not provide special treatment because his last name is Biden,” Comer added.
