Last week in Houston, a horrific crime was committed which serves as a reminder of the decline in morality across America.
According to KTRK, two suspects – Trayvion Lockridge and Derodric Stephens – have been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery over 65 for their involvement in the assault of 67-year-old Florentino Hurtado, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia.

KTRK reported that the incident took place in the parking lot on December 23 near Tidwell in the 5900 block of North Shepherd. Jessica Hurtado, daughter of the victim Manuel Hurtado, informed that he and his wife had gone to the store to purchase ingredients for making tamales.
Video evidence acquired by KTRK shows Hurtado wandering outside his vehicle and attempting to open the door handle of another car.
Lockridge and Stephens then appear, initiating their assault against him with multiple blows to his head before violently kicking it when he fell to the ground.
The suspects fled the scene after assaulting Florentino Hurtado, who sustained multiple injuries including a broken cheekbone, numerous cuts requiring stitches, a possible traumatic brain injury, and a black eye.
Police revealed that the two men had left in the car and had stolem Hurtado’s cellphone.
Florentino, who weighs less than 100 pounds, suffered serious injuries including a broken cheekbone, numerous cuts that required stitches, a possible traumatic brain injury and a black eye.
In an interview with KTRK Thursday, Florentino’s daughter Jessica recalled the brutal attack on her father.
“My dad, you can see him stumble up and get up, and you could tell he was obviously confused and dazed as well, and he started wandering towards the pawnshop,” Jessica said.
A simple push, a simple “go away.” My dad would have walked away.
The Daily Mail reported that the state of Texas requested Lockridge’s bond to be set at $1 million, while the defense requested an amount of $3,000. Eventually, the bond was set at $50,000.
Jessica expressed dissatisfaction with this sum in her interview with KTRK for such a serious offense.
It’s just sad. It’s really sad; my father did not deserve this at all. We just want justice for my dad. That’s all we want.
