Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s charity foundation, Archewell, has been deemed “delinquent” in California and has been instructed to cease all fundraising and spending activities immediately.
The couple failed to submit necessary reports and pay required fees for charitable status, as revealed by Page Six.
The official letter from California’s attorney general, Rob Bonta, confirms that Archewell has been listed as “delinquent” for not submitting its annual report and registration fees since at least early May.
The note adds, “An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.”
The couple’s reputation has taken another hit with the recent ruling, as it continues to decline following their decision to step away from Royal duties and relocate to Hollywood in pursuit of financial gain and left-wing activism.
Despite a significant $11 million drop in donations to Archewell between 2021 and 2022, the couple still managed to afford a substantial 280 percent pay increase for their associate, James Holt.
Their $20 million podcast deal with Spotify was terminated last year, leading to public criticism from company executive Bill Simmons, who branded them as “f**king grifters.”
During a recent visit to Nigeria, the couple presented themselves as royal representatives despite no longer holding official roles within the family. Meghan Markle even referred to Nigeria as “my country,” despite it being her first visit.
“I want to start by saying thank you very much for just how gracious you’ve all been in welcoming my husband and I to this country… my country,” she said. “I am just flattered and honored and inspired. It has been a whirlwind 24 hours since we arrived, and I very quickly got the memo that I need to wear more colour, so I can fit in with all of you and your incredible fashion.”
In light of the recent developments surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s charity foundation, Archewell, it is becoming increasingly clear that their actions and choices are tarnishing their once-pristine reputation.
The couple’s failure to comply with basic legal requirements for their charitable status is not only disappointing but also raises questions about their commitment to transparency and accountability.
Furthermore, the couple’s pursuit of financial gain and left-wing activism seems to be overshadowing any genuine philanthropic efforts they may have had.
Their extravagant spending habits and questionable decisions, such as the substantial pay increase for their associate despite a drop in donations, only serve to reinforce the perception that they are more interested in personal gain than in making a positive impact on society.
The termination of their podcast deal with Spotify and the public criticism that followed highlight the consequences of their actions.
It is evident that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle need to reassess their priorities and focus on rebuilding trust with both the public and the charitable sector.
Additionally, their attempts to present themselves as royal representatives during a visit to Nigeria, despite no longer holding official roles within the family, further undermines their credibility.
Meghan Markle’s claim that Nigeria is “my country” comes across as tone-deaf and insensitive, highlighting a disconnect between them and reality.
