Manhattan Attorney’s Office: Bragg’s Case Against Trump is ‘Nonsense’

From the outset, it has been clear that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump was a mix of exaggeration, unwarranted conclusions, and legal maneuvers aimed at allowing Democrats to declare Trump a “convicted felon.”

However, a top spokesperson for Bragg’s own office, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office, has now acknowledged that the case is “nonsense.” Despite not seeking new employment yet, there are indications that he might do so soon.

The spokesperson, Nicholas Biase, unintentionally revealed his criticisms of his boss in a private conversation with an undercover operative for podcaster Steven Crowder.

This led to him being featured on Crowder’s “Mug Club,” where he openly criticized his boss. Biase has since apologized and backtracked, but the damage has been done.

His actions inadvertently showcased independent thinking, leading to questions about how his superiors will react. Although he has attempted to return to the leftist fold and pleaded for leniency, it remains uncertain whether he will be forgiven or face consequences.

Crowder posted thirteen minutes of Biase talking with his date on social media Thursday. Bragg, according to Biase, was “just stacking charges and rearranging things just to make it fit a case.” Biase also says, at various points in the video, what he thinks of the case against Trump: “Honestly, I think the case is nonsense.” “It’s a perversion of justice.” “It’s a travesty of justice.” “It’s a mockery of justice.” As if that weren’t enough, he adds that “the whole thing is disgusting,” and observes, “That’s why he [Trump] is surging in the polls.”

The New York Post reported on Thursday that Biase revealed he had a 15-year acquaintance with Bragg and had previously worked with him at SDNY (Southern District of New York).

However, it is unlikely that Bragg will bring Biase to his next job, especially since Biase attributed Bragg’s relentless pursuit of Trump, even if it meant bending the law, to the prosecutor’s overwhelming ambition.

“He wants to be something,” Biase said. “A mayor? I’m not sure what he wants to be, but I know he’s not happy just being the DA of New York County. Before he decided to prosecute Trump, did you know who he was? You do now.”

Certainly. Bragg’s name is more notorious than renowned, as he will be remembered as one of the figures who contributed to the downfall of the republic.

However, his legal pursuit of Trump has gained traction and credibility within leftist circles. It is conceivable that he may even ascend to a political office, but such an outcome would reflect the current malaise within American politics.

Following the release of the video, Biase has expressed deep remorse for his actions. He maintains that he made the remarks in a private setting with someone he had just met and was attempting to impress.

While it’s not uncommon for individuals to seek admiration by portraying their work as significant and compelling, it’s perplexing how Biase believed that criticizing his boss and portraying Donald Trump as a victim in the legal proceedings could be impressive in New York City.

Biase went to the extent of criticizing another politically motivated individual, Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, for the possibility of imprisoning Trump in a few weeks over a weak case.

“This guy is probably going to try to lock him up,” Biase said. “And there is going to be, it’s going to be ugly… They are so obsessed with getting him.”

When his date asked him who was so obsessed with getting Trump, he answered, “The Democrats … It affects his candidacy if he’s a convicted felon.” Biase didn’t think this would work: “Those felonies did nothing to stop Trump from running … In fact, they made him more relevant.”

Certainly. Indeed, it is commendable that Nicholas Biase can recognize this, even in what he believed to be a private discussion. The fact that he feels the need to apologize for his remarks underscores the severity of the nation’s situation.
