Jason Miller, advisor to former President Donald Trump, commented on Wednesday’s GOP debate claiming that viewers witnessed Governor Ron DeSantis’s campaign being “leapfrogged” by businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
Miller added that the event may have signaled the demise of DeSantis’s campaign.
“We saw the death of Ron DeSantis’s campaign tonight as Vivek Ramaswamy leapfrogged him into second place,” Miller said during an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press. “DeSantis, it didn’t do good enough for him to tread water. He had to have a breakout moment, and Ramaswamy completely outshone him.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence placed third with 13 percent, followed by Tim Scott (8%), Nikki Haley (7%), Chris Christie (4%), Doug Burgum (3%) and Asa Hutchinson (2%). Nine percent reported that they “don’t know.”
“I knew [former] President Trump wasn’t going to be there tonight,” Miller said. “I didn’t know Ron DeSantis was going to skip the debate as well.”
