A South Florida woman is facing a felony grand theft charge after police say she drugged a man she met at a Hallandale Beach nightclub and stole his nearly $100,000 Rolex watch while he slept.
Lynda Mae Crouse, 32, was arrested by Seminole police on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, and booked into Broward County Jail. She was charged with second-degree grand theft, a felony, and released the following day after posting $2,500 bond, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Investigators say the case stems from an April 12 encounter at the Carousel Club in Hallandale Beach, where Crouse allegedly began talking with the man around midnight. The two exchanged Instagram accounts before parting ways.
Early the next morning, around 1:20 a.m., the man sent an Uber to pick up Crouse and bring her to his home, police said. The pair had several alcoholic drinks together in his living room before he stepped into his bedroom to change clothes. That’s when he began feeling “funny” and “extremely tired,” according to the affidavit.
While he was in the bedroom and Crouse was alone in the living room, he told police he heard a distinctive “clapping sound.” When he came back out, he said Crouse was “acting different” and abruptly said she was leaving. He fell asleep within minutes of her departure.
He woke up hours later still feeling strange, remembered the sound he’d heard, and checked the box where he kept his Rolex. It was empty. The watch — a gold 40 mm diamond-bedazzled Rolex Presidential — was later appraised at $98,400. The man identified Crouse in a police photo lineup.
Court records indicate this was not an isolated incident. Crouse is accused of using a similar approach in at least four other cases in Miami-Dade County, allegedly drugging victims before taking their valuables.
In a separate case investigated by City of Miami police, a victim underwent toxicology testing that confirmed the presence of zolpidem, a prescription sleep medication used to treat insomnia. The Broward County victim in the Hallandale Beach case was not tested for drugs.
