Comer Predicts More Pardons Following Hunter Biden’s Legal Troubles

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer joined Benny Johnson on The Benny Show to discuss President Joe Biden’s recent controversial decision to issue a blanket pardon for his son, Hunter Biden. Comer expressed that this move not only validates his committee’s ongoing investigation into the Biden family’s financial activities but also signals the likelihood of additional pardons in the near future.

Hunter Biden’s pardon covers not only his conviction for tax evasion related to his Burisma income but also preemptively shields him from other potential charges stemming from financial dealings between 2014 and the present. Comer characterized this sweeping pardon as a preemptive strike by the president to shield his son from further legal consequences.

“Well, my reaction was I obviously knew he was going to pardon Hunter,” Comer said. “The reason he’s pardoning Hunter so early is because Hunter was fixing to be sentenced to prison next week, and Joe Biden had an opportunity to do it quietly on a Sunday night, right before he got on a plane to Africa.”

The timing, Comer argued, was strategic and designed to minimize public scrutiny.

Comer highlighted that the pardon implicitly acknowledges the findings of the Oversight Committee, which has been investigating allegations of influence peddling, tax evasion, and money laundering involving the Biden family. The committee uncovered over $20 million in earnings linked to business dealings in China, Romania, and Russia.

“All the other money besides Burisma—the Chinese money, the Romanian money, the Russian money—he never paid any taxes on it,” Comer revealed. He detailed how the funds were allegedly laundered through a network of limited liability companies (LLCs) and used for personal expenses.

According to IRS whistleblowers, these personal expenses reportedly included payments for “prostitutes” and “sex clubs,” which were allegedly written off as business expenses.

“Everything that he took in from the influence peddling, besides Burisma, he never paid a penny of taxes on it,” Comer said.

Comer suggested that President Biden’s pardoning spree might not end with Hunter.

“He’s not finished pardoning, by the way,” Comer said. “He will have to pardon at least his brother on the way out.”

This statement points to broader concerns about the Biden family’s legal vulnerabilities. Comer noted that the blanket pardon is likely intended to preempt potential charges from a future Department of Justice under a Republican administration.

“Joe Biden read the Oversight Committee report,” Comer said. “He knew that a Trump Department of Justice could charge Hunter Biden for money laundering, violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and tax evasion for significantly more amounts of money than what he was charged for tax evasion on.”

The pardon announcement has drawn sharp criticism from Republicans, who argue that it undermines accountability and transparency. Many see it as a tactic to shield the Biden family from legal consequences tied to their financial dealings.

During his discussion with Johnson, Comer described the pardon as an admission of guilt by the president. Johnson echoed this sentiment, calling the move “a significant acknowledgment” of the Oversight Committee’s findings.

“It was effectively Joe Biden, staring down the barrel, saying you were right,” Johnson said.

The timing of the pardon, coming just days before Hunter Biden’s sentencing, has fueled public and political scrutiny. Critics argue that the move sets a dangerous precedent, raising questions about the role of presidential pardons in shielding family members from accountability.

However, Comer remains committed to continuing the investigation into the Biden family’s financial activities.

“At the end of the day, you know everything in the investigation was accurate,” Comer concluded.

The controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s pardon has amplified calls for greater transparency in the use of presidential pardons. With Comer predicting additional pardons for other family members, this issue is likely to remain a focal point in the ongoing debate over government accountability.

The Oversight Committee’s investigations are expected to press forward, ensuring the spotlight remains on the Biden family’s financial dealings as Republicans seek to hold the administration accountable for its actions.
